The structure
A liposome is a tiny sphere formed by a phospholipid bilayer — a double layer of fat molecules with water-friendly outsides and water-avoiding insides. A nutrient can be carried inside this shell. Because the shell is chemically similar to your own cell membranes, it can pass through the digestive environment more intact and interact with cells more readily than an unprotected nutrient.
What it does for a nutrient
